During last year’s budget, it was revealed that prospective property buyers, looking to purchase their first property in Malta will benefit from an exemption from the stamp duty of documents up to a maximum of €5,000.
Again, during yesterday’s budget, Finance Minister Prof. Edward Scicluna revealed that the first-time buyers scheme will be extended until the end of next year (2016). This scheme will see new couples benefitting by up to €5,000 if they are first-time buyers. The said buyers will be exempt from paying the stamp duty on documents. Furthermore, those who paid duties after the 1st of July this year (when the scheme closed) will be getting a refund.
So if you are in the market to purchase your first property, do not miss out the chance to benefit from this extended scheme. For more information regarding the available property at Pendergardens, click here.
